Masculine Man1-26’4”80Pale/Skinny, Long black hair, like Aragon from LOTR
Feminine Man3-45’4”78Like Narancia from JJB - dark hair, lanky, very fem facial expressions and wide eyes

Sophia Marrow was born in the capital city of Zenytha within the Vaena Kingdom of Terick. She was raised by lower-to-barely-middle-class parents who worked as Butchers in one of the city’s food districts. Sophia was a bit of an outcast as a child and even her parents were a bit confused and off-put by her hobbies; which included dissecting the parts of any animal they hadn’t used for product, but most of the time they were too busy with work to care and left her to her own devices.

Sophia’s analytical and calculating mind quickly absorbed as much information as she could get her hands on within her parents’ butchery and soon spent many days and nights in and out of libraries trying to brew various concoctions - stealing the ingredients out of her parent’s kitchen.

By her late-teens, Sophia spent much of her time understanding the alchemical world - learning how to produce potions of desirable effects. These potions would catch the eye of Kassill Angrum; a Noble in the King’s Court that had once been a commoner himself, who was astounded at how much more effective Sophia’s potions were than those of the current High Alchemist. Kassill Angrum proved to be a regular customer of Sophia’s business and even sent other regular customers her way.

As the years passed by, Sophia’s business flourished. She was selling her potions and ingredients to commoners and highborn alike. One day, Sophia caught word that none of the King’s Alchemists could cure a plague that had been going around the capital - prompting her to investigate and try develop a cure for it herself.

Sophia seized the opportunity and visited plague victims in the early and late stages of the disease - being careful not the contract the disease herself, using a crudely mask carved from animal bones. Within a fortnight she’d developed a functional cure and within two months, a full scale production of the cure was distributed to the entire Kingdom.

The King personally thanked Sophia by naming her the new High Alchemist in his personal court - granting her the title of Doctor Bone-Mask. With access to the entire Kingdom’s archives, resources, and equipment - Sophia’s skill and production reached new levels.

One day, Sophia was approached by a highborn man whose Mother had been cured of the plague by Sophia’s work and wanted to pay her back for the favour. The pair spent some time together and Sophia was quite surprised when the man proposed to her on the spot. She accepted as he was quite wealthy and could improve her prospects within the King’s Court. For a while; they worked well together but tension grew after Sophia became absorbed by her work. Eventually; to the Man’s despair, Sophia asked for a divorce as she had lost interest in the marriage and wished to focus on her work completely.

Later that same year; Sophia drank an experimental potion intended to aid the soldiers on the front line of the war to the East - however she felt quite odd the next morning. After fully waking up, she was surprised to realise that their appearance had entirely changed she was now a Masculine man. The next few mornings each presented a new experience with entirely different appearances. Sophia was too busy with their work to really care and continued working on the potion - only stopping to record observations of the potion that caused this side-affect.

Years later; on an unexpected Winter morning, Sophia was dragged by guards into the King’s Chambers where the King’s Hand accused him of murdering the King’s Eldest Son; Prince Tarlon III. Morgyn looked around and noticed his former Husband standing quietly in the corner of the room before Kassill Angrum and other members of the King’s Court flooded the room to voice their opinion on the accusations. Sophia knew they were false accusations and tried to defend himself but the King’s Hand was too persuasive and he was sentenced to be put to death by poison.

“After all, who else would have the knowledge and access to poison the Prince other than the King’s Alchemist…” - The Crown’s Hand to the Court about the accusation of Sophia

Before Sophia was escorted out of the chamber; he felt Kassill Angrum pass him a glass flask, as Guards seized him tighter and began to drag him to the Dungeons for holding and interrogation. After they turned the corner and there was a moment of privacy between Sophia and the two guards; he managed to distract the pair of them and drink the potion - luckily enough for him it was an Invisibility Potion - and fled out of the Keep where Kassill Angrum aided in helping Sophia out of the city. He fled Southwest towards Wrestonbridge before stopping there for the night.

She woke up to wanted posters of her masculine appearance hanging around the town the next morning and she knew she had to quickly continue Southwest and cross through Grandoar’s Gate and into The Paradisian Coast - where persecution was much less likely.

For the first time ever; Sophia was actually quite thankful for the accidental biology-warping potion that she’d drunk years ago. She made her way through Grandoar’s Gate and towards Port Gilmark where they would sell her wares and begin to work her way up society once-again.

Somewhere between 6 months to a year after fleeing the country of Terick,Sophia; now going by the name of Morgyn Kossith, found themself returning from a supply run across the docks of Port Gilmark when they saw a Goliath male in chains being whipped by a Slaver. Morgyn; completely morally opposed to slavery, chided the Slaver and eventually negotiated a price with him for the Goliath.

“Now, be careful of this one ‘ere. Keep ‘im away from water or ‘e’ll sink your boat for sure. Done it once already I’m told…”
- The Slaver to Morgyn about the Goliath

Morgyn took the Goliath male home and unlocked the shackles that bound him. Confused, the Goliath inquired why he had done that. They introduced themselves to the Goliath and asked for them their name; to which they answered with Aurevald. Aurevald offered to work for Morgyn to pay them back for their generosity - seeing that Morgyn sometimes had trouble reaching high shelves and lifting heavy boxes.

Morgyn taught Aurevald more about the world; it’s history, politics, language, and science. Morgyn was intrigued to see Aurevald’s wrists glowing faintly at the Arcane equipment in their laboratory but didn’t mention anything about it.

Aurevald was surprised to see Morgyn’s physical appearance change a handful of times during their early days together and eventually he asked about it during one of his lessons. Morgyn explained that his physical appearance; sex and all, randomly changes every morning because of a long-term side-affect of a potion they’d made years ago. Aurevald from that point on would refer to Morgyn as “The Young Master”. Morgyn liked that title and called him Aury in response - Morgyn swears he saw tears flood to the Goliath’s eyes for just a second, but he didn’t prod to understand better why that had evoked such a reaction from Aury.

The pair took their business on the road via a cart and travelled East to Port Tidus and Port Royden where Morgyn’s potions became even more popular; maybe a bit too popular, amassing a decent amount of coin for the pair of them and they bought a small laboratory back in Port Gilmark with the bulk of it.

One night; 3 years after Morgyn had fled the Vaena Kingdom in Terick, Aurevald returned from a late-night delivery and suddenly; and a bit oddly, told Morgyn that have a calling that there’s more money to be earned going North. Morgyn; aware of the bounty still on her head, resisted the notion and the pair argued a bit before going to bed.

“You can go North but I’m staying right here… There’s plenty of money to be earned here…”
- Morgyn to Aurevald about going North

However, early the next morning - a letter for Morgyn arrived with an unknown seal on it. The contents of the letter read as such:

“Dear Doctor Bone-Mask,

You do not know me and for now, it will stay that way - I do not know who I can trust. Just know that I remember your heroic deeds in curing Zenytha of that awful plague many years ago.

I don’t invoke your past to boast or demean; that would be quite ungentlemanly, only just to give you context of what circles I was once privy to.

Yes, was is the correct tense. You see, I believe our Kingdom is compromised from within and The King is being blinded from seeing it. I was… hushed to put it in kinder terms when I presented this evidence and only escaped through the kindness of a good woman’s intuition.

I reach out to you because I believe you might have been the first example of the culprit’s corruption - slowly weaving their way into The King’s back pocket whilst eliminating any who stood to resist their ascension.

If you’re serious about clearing your name then head towards Rookwell; it’s a small village between the Shadesorrow Forest and Vynord.

Help them deal with their Raider problem and we’ll talk again later.

R”

Morgyn approached Aurevald in the morning and apologised for their outburst the previous night before agreeing to head North towards a place called Rookwell; a former agricultural town in Terick’s Southwest that grew into a tourist stop and drinking spot.

“Mornin’ Aury,

I’m sorry about last night. I didn’t mean to shut you out like that friend.

Funny coincidence though; turns out I have some business to attend to in Rookwell. A bit different than our usual work - we’re going to help them clear up a small raider problem and we’ll see where it goes from there.”
- Morgyn to Aurevald

Aurevald was quite pleased to hear Morgyn had changed their mind and the pair headed North back through Grandoar’s Gate and towards Rookwell.

Kassill Angrum - Friend in High Places

Kassill Angrum was one of Morgyn’s first regular customers and appreciated the quality of her potions. At all times during her career; whenever push-came-to-shove, Kassill Angrum proved he believed in her and supported the Alchemist even after they were declared and enemy of the State. The pair haven’t spoken since that day.

Aurevald - Business Partner and Travelling Companion

Aurevald stood out like a sore thumb amongst the other slaves on the docks of Port Gilmark. Morgyn had the coin to free him so they did, leading to what would become a quite successful business partnership turned genuine friendship. Neither party prods too deeply into the other’s business; both seem to understand that they each have things they’d rather stayed secret for the time being.
