1590, Rising Calcyr, II (glowing a vibrant, amber orange)

The laboratory has been quiet this morning; perfect for some focused reading. Magister Fa’Lun procured an interesting manuscript about the Primordial Titans. It details Orghvaan, The Emperor Of Earth singlehandedly resisting the power of Selenephoe, Wroth, and an unnamed 3rd Archon.

It makes me wonder what happened to his power; and how one would go about replicating such a feat…

Additional research has led me to ponder something I cannot find mention of in the records; why did it take Mortals to overcome the Primordial Titans? There’s many a mention of Archons overpowering their Illchorian brethren, but none that suggest the Archons - let alone a singular member - ever beat a Primordial. It puzzles me more given the Archons had no trouble suppressing the Primordial when they originally arrived.

I have to be careful who I discuss this with, the implication that Mortalshave a special power that the Gods do not would be powerful ammunition for the Magisters. Further research will have to wait; the Druids of Colum’Tylas have asked for assistance with a territory dispute. As far as I understand, they wish a barrier placed around some tree root - to what end I do not understand…

My time with Rootkeeper Solusya was surprisingly pleasant. Garrett had set my expectations of the Druids quite low; but I now see he’s just not intellectual enough to appreciate their culture.

As to be expected; she was rather knowledgeable about The Primordials - but her explanations lacked the rigor that a scholar like myself requires. Her suggestion is that The Primordials were not originally quelled through force, but perhaps by a negotiation of sorts.

It’s a fascinating insight but I cannot cite the whims of the spirits in my thesis proposal. Perhaps I need to look beyond the archives of Tahl’Lethys…

The Magisters in Lex’Emplitus have finally granted me access to their Druidic archives - I did not realize they kept anything that isn’t Scripture within their walls. As expected however; any records that even vaguely suggest that the Archons are not the be-all-and-end-all of power has been redacted using strange runes. I could not parse them, but Solusya inferred that they were a seamless blend of Fey and Giant magic.

A colleague of hers; Umyr - a tall Woman with giant-like runes and pointy ears, suggested that I visit the peaks of the Mystveil Mountains within the Feywilds…

1590, Rising Lyad, X (glowing a vibrant, icy blue)

My journey to the peaks was arduous, but well-worth it. I could retire with a scholarly fortune for what I’ve discovered so far! The lower Mountains are guarded by tribes of Terralpi; a humanoid species with mole-like features, and the peaks are claimed by the Gyi’Gantos people - Umyr’s people I gather. As far as I am aware; there is no record of their existence in the archives of any of the Great Magycites.

When I asked which Archon they descend from; they could only answer with “The Trickster”. I cannot place which of the Archons that title could be referring to.

Their chief was able to unseal some of the documents - detailing accounts of Archon; all but one in their nascency, and The Primordials negotiating. Some accounts detail a tree-like entity moderating these discussions; the Gyi’Gantos keep using a single word for this tree - “Drasiyl”.

The deadline for my thesis draws near; I must deliver it before the end of Low Light, but following that I plan to investigate this “Drasiyl” further…

Research into “Drasiyl” proved aimless - I am left to presume it is a Gyi’Gantos word with no direct translation (or a wild-goose chase they’ve sent me on). The only skerrick of information was a note I found yesterday that suggests some druidic cultures revere two Great Trees known as The Ygg & The Suul.

Unfortunately, I cannot delay my responsibility to our students any longer, and I am in sore need of a break from Druidic texts as well…

762 1590, Rising Indyth, X (glowing a vibrant, sky blue)

A strange man in a white mask offered me information in return for my services as an Arcanist, he would not say exactly what for; something about increasing the efficiency of the Levis Engines in the South Ward, it sounds intriguing.

With my agreement, he suggested that a nexus point in the eastern woods of The Wilds would be a prime location for my independent research. Allexander has returned to cover the remainder of our classes, so I may depart as soon as I am ready.

As he left, he warned me to “be careful of the Gandyrs”; but did not elaborate further…

Piers

1590, Fading Indyth, I (glowing a dim, sky blue)

Attempts to probe the nexus have proven challenging; the closest yet occurred yesterday when 3 serpent-like creatures thrust from it and nearly dragged me within it; I presume these are the “Gandyrs” I was warned about.

If there are answers about “Drasiyl” within this nexus - they are too well guarded for me to gleam at this time.

I must return to Tahl’Lethys to begin work for Delyson Thorne

We are merely a figment upon a much broader world. From the piercing blue stars, I have seen the truth; of myself, of this existence, and of our place in the larger perspective of his will.

For the final time, Piers…
