CHRPLT - The Seed and The Sword
Summary
Section titled “Summary”- Graxious Longwood III’s story
- He seeks the legendary Great sword Eriana’s Vow; a weapon once wielded by his Father - Zertheous - before it was stolen by his uncle Drethos
- This journey will take him all over Otheria as he looks for Drethos and the sword.
- He’ll learn quickly that Drethos lost the sword and was arrested by Vaena Kingdom soldiers for crossing the border illegally. The sword was taken by a man named Douglas Beck.
- Douglas Beck; brother of Zenytha elite Orion Beck, sold the blade to a gladiator who was killed by a band of thieves for it.
- The thieves took the sword North towards Stahn to earn back their territory from Serpens Cupiditas where they met their end.
- Serpens Cupiditas; recognizing the power of the blade; offered it to Thelnyron Dose in return for assistance in conquering Stahn and slaying Ignis Snowblood.
- Sometime in 916 PD; Thelnyron Dose took Eriana’s Vow to a Draconic Burial ground atop the Brackett Range and sealed a Demon within it - corrupting the blade and dealing a blow to Seedara.
- If the blade is found; a shadowy swordsman will appear to wield it and fight the party. Defeating it will put the presence to rest of a short while - but any attempts to wield the blade will end poorly.
- Graxious will need to reach out to Seedara for her guidance - and she will send him a vision of a waterfall.
Threads
Section titled “Threads”Red Eyes
Section titled “Red Eyes”The Red Eyes of Zertheous, Drethos, and Graxious are all part of a curse passed down to wielders of Eriana’s Vow after Thelnyron Dose sealed a Demon within the blade.
This curse drains the life energy of the bloodlines closely associated with the blade - especially the Longwood Family. Proximity to nature; especially sacred sites of The Bloom of Life drastically speed up this affect.
- Zertheous died prematurely because of this curse and his proximity to Elysia.
- The healing efforts of Sarara Longwood and the other clerics were null-and-void because of their connection to The Bloom of Life.
- Drethos is afflicted by the curse but has only just started to notice it as he has only just re-entered nature after 30 years in imprisonment.
- Drethos will; before dying, confide that he lost the sword to a man named Douglas Beck when he was arrested by the Vaena Kingdom. He’d never heard of the man but he apparently has business in Roan and Zenytha.
- Douglas Beck gave the sword to a gladiator who was killed for it after winning a few matches.
