Layton Riddle
Summary
Section titled “Summary”Sir Layton Riddle was a member of King Terick II’s central intelligence organization, where he specialized in identifying and solving puzzles.
Layton Riddle was investigating a puzzling murder case when he stumbled upon evidence of corruption with the Vaena Kingdom - implicating Dannick Vaena in a plot to overthrow Terick Vaena II. He was betrayed by his colleagues when he reported these findings - seemingly because they were in on the plot as well - and was stripped of his titles, denounced as a traitor of the Kingdom, and scheduled for trial.
In the dead of the night, he escaped prison with the help of Layla Ferrous; the widow of the murder victim, but they were forced to go their separate ways. Her parting words to him were
“Find Hershel. Expose the truth to restore your reputation.”

In the 2 years since that night, Layton has been looking for Hershel; who seemingly had gone into hiding after Layton’s ridicule,

An excellent professor from Veiled Visage University; the school that Layton Riddle studied at, Hershel identified Layton’s aptitude early on in his career and guided him towards success. It was Hershel who introduced Layla Ferrous’ case to Layton a week before the above events.
