Arcanic Calendar
Section titled “Arcanic Calendar”The previous calendar of Vaelorys; developed during The Arcanic Age, is a system that has been lost to time for the most part. It is know that it had elements that were based on enchanted candles that would produce flames of different colours, sizes, and intensities at each time in a year - people learned to interpolate individuals days between four distinct periods of a cycle; New Light, High Light, Low Light, and No Light. The Current System calendar pays homage to this with four of its months and days being named in honour of this cycle.
Days were written using words to describe the dominant colour of the flame, and a numeral from I to XII to represent it’s Stage within the colour i.e. “Potascyr I” or “Lithyor VII”
