Details
Section titled โDetailsโALLEN is a Changeling Archfey and a member of The Big Three - the leaders of The Hidden Leaf. He has a unique ability to perceive events of a โHigher Planeโ and has recognized that he - like everything else in his existence - is a creation of a higher being named The Dungeon Master, Connor Williams.
Like the rest of The Big Three - ALLEN was not originally a Changeling, instead being a Human mage named Allexander during The Arcanic Age. He was tricked by a Man In A White Mask into turning one of the wards of the flying city of TahlโLethys into the weapon that killed Sophira, The Springdancer and brought upon The Cataclysm. The impact and subsequent waves of Divine Magic that flowed over the three mages.
Diary Entries
Section titled โDiary Entriesโ1590, Rising Lithyor, XIV
The Magisters were happy to hand over their research materials on The Descender - a pleasant side effect of a society distancing itself from Divinity. I am eager to validate my hypothesis, this could be the breakthrough of the decade if I am correctโฆ
1590, Fading Lithyor, I
Further reading is required to confirm my suspicions about the beyond, but it seems that The Descender - like the Gods themselves; arrived from outside our world.
I am thankful this seems to have been catalogued carelessly without itโs contents being understood - this knowledge is quite dangerous at this particular juncture in history, thus the Gods seem any less special than they already appear.
1590, Rising Calcyr, I
It intrigues me that whilst the Gods arrived on the Material Plane, it appears The Descender instead appeared in the Feywild - could The Farlands extend that far?
Alas I must search for answers amidst a pool run dry, and business elsewhere draws me away for many moons.
1590, Rising Barylt, I
I expected Cavaelyon to be devoid of knowledge, but for the first time in so many moons I am glad to have been wrong.
I met this wonderful Fey man who shared a myth from his grandfather that I believe references The Descender.
โThe Moon wept the loss of her companion, whilst family danced on itโs grave.
The Moon thought of home, old and new.Her scarred heart retreated into far-off lands, seeking reprieve from her burdens.
The Moonโs Sister wept the loss of her family, old or new.The Moonโs Sister wept in the Sun, as she danced senselessly from dawn till dusk,
The Moonโs Sister prayed to again see the Moon, old or new.Her deaf prayers danced upon far-off slumbering ears, seeking refuge from harm.
The Seeker thought of home, old and new.The Seeker licked his wounds in the woods, whilst spirits danced around him.
The Seeker questioned his purpose, old or new.His questions danced upon senseless ears, bringing renewal during a lightless night.
The Moon thought of her companion, old or new.โThe Seeker mentioned must be The Descenderโฆ It might be time to pay the Seelie Court a visitโฆ
1590, Fading Arsenyr, III
My visits to the Seelie Court have been a resounding failure. It is shameful as business on TahlโLethys calls me away at the worst time.
My only instructions were to meet a man in white mask - how gauche?
1590, Fading Arsenyr, IV
A curious individual informed me of an old manor in the Eastern Woodsโฆ The locals warn that it is guarded heavily by Displacer Beasts and even more fearsome creatures. Legend says that theyโre guarding a slumbering giant.
However my adventures there taught me a great deal about legend - primarily that it is legend for a reason, as reality rarely lives up to the lofty expectations. If there is a slumbering giant there - it is beyond my ability to discover.
1590, Fading Caesyl, XIV (dimly glowing a faint dark purple)
The world will never be the same again; and that is for the better. From the golden locks, I have seen the truth; of myself, of this existence, and of our place in the larger perspective of his will.
For the last time, Allexander
