The Rootkeepers

The Rootkeepers are a collective of Mortal tribes who practice Druidic rituals and tend to sacred sites known as The Roots Of Binding.

They congregated naturally around their elemental affinities. Each elemental tribe manages roots that interfere with the boundary between the Mortal Realm and their associated Elemental Planes.

Trials

Each tribe maintains a trial that identifies those with mastery and aptitude over their given element, and control over their fears pertaining to it.

Trial of Drowning

  • Involves overcoming the fear of drowning.

Trial of Burning

  • Involves overcoming the fear of being burnt to a crisp by searing flames.

Trial of Burial

  • Involves overcoming the fear of being buried alive

Trial of Descent

  • Involves overcoming the fear of dying via free fall

The Roots Of Binding

  • Foreign and comically large tree root that appear in specific locations around Otheria. They are the remnants of the Primordial Titans and interact with various elemental planes.
  • These roots are part of the sealing ritual that keeps The Husk Titan locked away.

Orsana

  • Located in an mythical Oasis.
    • The Rootkeepers of this area; have been cut off from contact for hundreds of years. They are now referred to by some as The Exiled Tribe.
    • They were blamed for causing the Desert Of Despair to intensify and pushed out of society completely. Isolated, some of their people travelled North East for a supposed cure.
