Summary

• Leader of Caritas; an independent military organization in Stahn, that provides protection for people who are unable to afford it through other means.

• Originally allied with the Snowblood Family before he betrayed Ignis Snowblood and took Vindicta Snowblood as a prisoner/forced wife.

• His general; Aegrus Aggredior, slew Vindicta Snowblood in the moment before she managed to assassinate Serpens.

• Also known as The Shapechanger - allowing him to take the shape of; and mimic the abilities of, people he has spent a long time around.

  • He used this power to get close to and mimic Ignis Snowblood for a time, during a trip East where he eliminated the Path Of The Heavenly Demon; in an attempt to turn the two

• He is unable to steal the powers of people who have died; unless they die by his hand.

  • During the betrayal of Ignis Snowblood - Baiulus Bellum recognized that Serpens was not worthy of the powers and slew Ignis Snowblood himself; preventing The Shapechanger from taking his powers.

Motivations

• Innately greedy. Seeks power, Caritas is a front for taking advantage of vulnerable people.

• He and Vindicta Snowblood were friends as children; and he secretly loved her for years, before she fell in love with Ignis Snowblood - leading to a long-kept hatred for the man.

  • Serpens developed his greedy, conquest-driven tendencies after Ignis Snowblood courted Vindicta Snowblood - he felt the world had taught him a lesson to “ensure he took what he wanted rather than wait for it to come to him.”

• Wishes to steal the powers of the Snowbloods for himself.

  • Ignis Snowblood’s awakening of the Snowblood powers made him extra power-hungry.
  • He has only become more power hungry since Ignis Snowblood’s death and the escape of Lady Snowblood.

• Working with Delyson Thorne to overthrow the governments of Otheria in an attempt to flush out Lady from wherever she’s hiding.
