Verrmyx, The Eternal Torturer
Summary
Section titled “Summary”Verrmyx (VERR-MIX) is the Illchor of the Underdark, punishment, and torture. He is known for being cruel, unforgiving, and irrational - often drawing arbitrary lines in the sand to justify his actions. He is commonly depicted as a mangle of limbs dragging himself across the ground - it was during The Cataclysm that this earned him a secondary title of “The Dragging Death”.
His worship is prominent in the Underdark - the subterranean realm far below the surface of Vaelorys. His follower are quite disparate - with the one commonality being an obsession with inflicting and enduring pain. Mortal children across Vaelorys are told stories about Verrmyx to ensure they behave themselves, but some scholars believe this is archaic.
