PLTPNT - Core Plot

THE_PARTY have been granted a second chance at saving the world with a twist, fate has been altered permanently and they can no longer live the same life they once had. With this in mind; every decision made can further deviate from their original path.

The party will not remember their previous lives clearly; only vague and unclear fragments at times were character-altering decisions are made.

  • The party discover a secret Arcane lab where a mysterious figure is conducting experiments on the missing staff from The Rowdy Roan.
  • Further into the lab - the party can witness a handful of mages and a the mysterious figure are conducting a ritual.
  • The mysterious figure can later be seen playing with a confusingly magical object constantly changing shape - making notes of the object.
    • The notes are a table/tally of how many times it has had a specific number of sides.
    • 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, 100 (the number of sides on each dice in a D&D set)
  • An encounter with this figure will take place - the party can try to claim the object before another figure snatches it at the last minute.
  • Post credit scene where two figures are talking in a lab about the device - referring to it as “The Anchor” and saying the experiment was a success - setting the rest of the plan in motion.
  • The party will also learn that there were attacks on the city during this time; and that they’re doing repairs/stocktake of the damages/losses.
  • 2-5 sessions of questing, recuperating.
  • This is their time to flesh out their stories, builds, or advance NPC progression within Roan.
  • They will be awarded with a portable hand mirror that allows them each once per year to witness a relevant event in their timeline/history.
    • SHAI will see people praying with tears in their eyes whilst the sky is alight with various colours
    • Lady will see a wooden hut nearby a clearing. There’s a cave and three people standing outside the hut around a fire.
    • Aurevald will see dark skinned Goliaths tending to a Withered tree in the middle of the desert, before seeing them flee West out of fear.
    • Jin will see a familiar masked man wearing black and grey robes break into a forge and steal a blade left on the anvil.

  • Jin can encounter the Monk who will function link a reskinned Echo Knight with Monk properties
    • He’ll drop a personal belonging when he leaves (intentionally?) based on
  • High Quarterfest celebrations will require them to help the city by finding and returning a city heirloom that was stolen during the attacks.
  • There’s a rediscovered Dwarf burial ground to the South West of Roan - is now being used by criminals and undesirables.
  • Mini-boss Kezark
    • Kezark and two “clones” of him that repeat the action he took on the previous turn.
    • He will have resistances to most damage types whilst they are active
    • The “clones” are tethered to him and must be damaged first to
  • A multi-pronged arc that will explore both the Feywild, and either Stahn or The Paradisian Coast. It starts with:
  • BLUE will appear to SHAI one night and reveal that the Elders believe the reason for the accelerating timeline is that a hidden group are using forbidden magic to tamper with Fate itself.
    • He can be seen emotionally disturbed by the fact that they no longer have any ability to expect the alignment. Dark circles around his eyes show that he hasn’t slept in days - likely out of fear of missing the alignment.
    • SHAI can do various things here to comfort BLUE - potentially gaining an ally in this process.
  • The following morning; regardless of what SHAI does, the alignment will have begun and it will be too late to stop it; SHAI will have a few days to find a way to the Feywild (first) (there’s a portal near Roan) OR they can pay/convince a high-level mage to shift them there.

Staying in Terick

  • If the party fail to find a way to the Feywild in time OR they choose not to for some other reason; have them continue questing before giving SHAI clues one long rest about the true meaning of the alignment.
  • SHAI will eventually have a needle drop moment (give clues) and realize that that the alignment completed and the hidden meaning puts the King’s life in danger.
  • The following morning they’ll wake up and be summoned by Thelnyron to Castle Roan for a meeting; who is unsure why they are being escorted there - where Dannick Vaena will pronounce to the entire room (including journalist, reporters, and ) that King Terick II was killed in his sleep by The Fated Eight and that they are criminals of Terick.
    • Should they try to escape - Thelnyron Dose will cast a spell on them and put them to sleep - the last words they’ll hear are “my lord - don’t expend the effort of your Guards nor yourself. Let me please take this lot to the Dungeons for sentencing - they deserve a fair trial after all.”
  • The party will awake in a dark & cold dungeon before Thelnyron Dose will contact SHAI magically.
    • “Oh good, you’re awake. Apologies are in order for what happened - the young King has gone mad with power. May I enter the cell?

    • “I understand your caution but I promise you - I have no idea what the King’s motives are here. I was as surprised as you were.
    • Eventually he’ll offer the party the option to teleport somewhere else on Otheria OR even another Plane.
      • “Time is running out. I can help you get to somewhere else on Otheria or to the Feywild if that’s more helpful.
      • “Lay low for a bit whilst I make sense of what has happened to the Young King - I promise I will help you find innocence

To The Feywild

  • Heading to Fey Realm will explore CHRPLT - The Magic of Mortality.
  • SHAI will learn that many of the Straw-Hats missed the ascension and are now trying to pick up the pieces of their society.
  • They can discover hidden communications with a mysterious group called ISM who seek to exploit the fractured and lost individuals.
  • SHAI and the party will have to work together to aid either a rebel group or ISM into taking control.

“Return To Terick

  • Returning to Terick if they managed to find a way to the Feywild before being framed - they will return and be apprehended by Mage Knights under the decree of King Dannick I.
  • They will be sentenced to execution at dawn - but saved by Davison Theros during the night - and offered to be teleported to either Stahn or The Paradisian Coast whilst Thelnyron Dose and a colleague of his investigate the truth behind Dannick Vaena’s claim to the throne.

  • “The Anchor?”

    • The party will find a letter referring to an “anchor” being transported out of Terick. They can try and intercept to learn more.
