Terick
Summary
Section titled “Summary”A large country within Otheria ruled by the Vaena Kingdom. It was named after Terick Vaena of the Vaena Family who settled the land under his rule. Before Terick Vaena settled the lane
- The Southwest is a large plains biome which leads into a semi-plateau in the Northeast.
- It shares a North Western border with Stahn, an Eastern border with Orsana, and a Southern border with the Paradisian Coast.
- Travel to and from the Paradisian Coast must go through Grandoar’s Gate
- Travel to Orsana is barred by the Desert Of Despair; a large wall of sand dunes that no one from Terick has managed to cross and return from.
- The Orsanae people do trade on the outskirts of the Desert Of Despair but have never revealed their secrets to other Otherians.

Places of Interest:
Section titled “Places of Interest:”Culturally and economically; Terick is split into Lower Terick and Higher Terick as the foundations of the country are slanted towards the Eastern coast.
Between Lower Terick and Higher Terick are two rivers that start from either side of the Brackett Range, before eventually joining and flowing towards the Paradisian Coast’s Coastalyie Rainforests. The Western river which runs through Lower Terick is called the Lowrun River and the Eastern river is known as the Hyrun River.
Lower Terick
Section titled “Lower Terick”- Roan former capital
- A large castle like structure that has been partially converted into a commercial district to service the towns in Lower Terick.
- Many of the towns in Lower Terick are operated by leadership from Roan.
- Shadesorrow Forest
- Rookwell starting town
- Rainmark
- Vynord
- A small agricultural town known for producing great wines and ale. Their grapes are their best during the month of Aegard.
- Newgate
- A border town that started as a collection of tents and shacks made by travellers from the Paradisian Coast.
- Currently is a logical rest stop for anyone crossing through or exiting from the Shadesorrow Forest.
- Wrestonbridge
- A town built near the Northern bridge over the Lowrun River. It is a logical rest stop for travellers from Stahn. Fishing is a popular pass time here.
- Ponderton
- A mining town built by a lake that services Miners who travel to tunnels built into the South Western side of the Brackett Range.
- The lake is fed by a small nameless offshoot of the Lowrun River.
- Travel here requires a passage through the Shadesorrow Forest so it provides regular business for guides and guards.
- Due to it’s location; the Vaena Kingdom mostly exports the products to the Paradisian Coast to save on transport costs.

- Orestead
- A mining town at the base of Eastern side of the Brackett Range; the border between Terick and Stahn, they’re a relatively large town due to the foot traffic they get and the shipments of raw and processed Ore they provide for the Vaena Kingdom.
- Blightbog
- A swamp town based near the intersection of Lowrun River and Hyrun River. The wetlands and bogs that surround it provide a unique landscape not seen elsewhere on Otheria.
- Riverstead
- A town near the end of the Lowrun River where it falls over the cliffs into The Coastalyie Rainforest.
- It’s mostly a fishing town and provides stable food supply for the other towns nearby.
Higher Terick
Section titled “Higher Terick”- Zenytha current capital
- Tower of The Arcane Will
- Silent Forest
- A large forest in the North that backs onto the intersections of the Brackett Range and the Desert Of Despair. It is eerily quiet at all times and is known to be home to many dangerous creatures, rogues, and outlaws.
- Cavenden is located in a clearing within this forest.
- Gerward
- The Economic capital of Terick - it services both internal and external trading and is known for it’s clockwork inventions/innovation.
- The Arcane Will have a tower here.
- Frostenvale
- A small wooded town built North West of Zenytha and West of the Silent Forest.
- A source of lumber for the Vaena Kingdom.
- Numerous Military Encampments
- Numerous military encampments exist across the border with Orsana to repel future incursions. There is a storied and bloody history between the Vaena Kingdom and The Orsanae.

Structure
Section titled “Structure”Terick is ruled by a monarchy; the Vaena Kingdom, and it’s current Monarch is King Terick II. They appoint Lawmaker and Captain to aid
Monarch
Section titled “Monarch”The Monarch of has always been a direct descendent of the Vaena Family - the namesake of their Kingdom. They appoint [[]]
The right hand of the current Monarch. They are a direct adviser and stand-in for the Monarch when logistics calls for it. They act with the full authority of the Vaena Kingdom and are subject only to the questioning of the Monarch.
They are appointed by the Monarch and can be stripped of the title for any reason and at any time.
Lawmaker
Section titled “Lawmaker”Leadership/Local Law enforcement
High Governor
Section titled “High Governor”A High Governor is a direct appointment by the Monarch. They are typically close advisers or trusted allies of the current Monarch. Roan’s High Governor is a man named Hellum Finsk and Gerward’s is run by a woman named Margarys Hae’mel. A High Governor might have numerous Governors reporting to them.
High Governors are permitted to appoint Sherrifs to smaller towns in their jurisdiction as a means of enforcing tax collection and fealty to the Monarch. They are also allowed to recruit and structure military factions.
Governor
Section titled “Governor”A Governor is an appointee of a High Governor or granted to them by the current Monarch. They act as an intermediary between the High Governor and other Lawmaker.
Sheriff
Section titled “Sheriff”Sheriffs are the lowest rank of Lawmaker and they act as a proxy for the High Governor in towns too small or remote for regular attention.
Gavyen Theos is the Sheriff of Rookwell.
Captain
Section titled “Captain”Military branch
Archcaptain
Section titled “Archcaptain”The Highest rank in Terick’s army. They are a direct appointment of the current Monarch and have control over all military actions. Their powers are expanded during a time of war but only so long as the Monarch is happy with them.
They are allowed to appoint Commanders as they please.
Commander
Section titled “Commander”Granted control over local military recruitment. They work with High Governors to distribute and deploy military aid where needed.
Commander Dae’hya is the Commander of Storm Corps in Roan.
Soldier
Section titled “Soldier”A blanket position within the Captains branch. They follow orders from those above them and pass them on to those below them. Amongst Soldiers of different groups there are various ranking systems that are recognized by their Commander solely. Experience/Years of Service is the consistent measure of ability.
