Ponderton
Summary
Section titled “Summary”Ponderton is a mining town in Terick’s central west. It is isolated from the rest of the Vaena Kingdom - with the only paths to it being via a ferry service over the Sideshot River or via the Shadesorrow Forest. Due to this, it’s resources are often exported directly from the town via The Paradisian Coast.
Points Of Interest
Section titled “Points Of Interest”Town Hall
Section titled “Town Hall”A large, cross-shaped building with an entrance in each of the 4 cardinal directions. It houses the necessary rooms to conduct conflict resolution, the offices of Sheriff Isolda Menai, and town’s treasury.
General Store
Section titled “General Store”Run by a Gnomish woman by the name of Granny Timbers - it has a collection of knick-knacks and miscellaneous resources the town’s folk need. She is known to lament not hearing from her granddaughter who moved to The Paradisian Coast years ago.
Weaponsmith
Section titled “Weaponsmith”Run by an androgynous Tiefling - they will sell basic weapons to adventurers but largely spend their days repairing tools for miners.
The Digger’s Diner
Section titled “The Digger’s Diner”A large, general purpose tavern/mess-hall for the town that is run by a Goliath named Erk Rockmill. It has unusually-high ceilings.
The Leaky Horn
Section titled “The Leaky Horn”A speciality-tavern based on Dwarven culture - many of the drinks are served out of the horns of cattle or other beasts.
Mining Guild
Section titled “Mining Guild”The offices for the town’s Miners. They are employed by Half-Elf woman named Emyra Syncor.
Mineshaft
Section titled “Mineshaft”On the outskirts of the town there is a mineshaft built into the side of The Brackett Range. It opens into a maze of tunnels that work their way far underground.
It was here that Varg’s Valiants retrieved a stolen map for The Homestead by defeating three angry Water Elementals.
