List of Plot Points that might be involved or branched from…

Two or three paragraphs summarizing the events of the previous session. Be Succinct.

Last we left off… The Fated Eight continued their research at Veiled Visage University before Axton suddenly and without warning, bolted out of the archives and off of the campus. The rest of you followed after the Tiefling male - only stopping to deal with a pompous student named Peter Ridgley - as you made you way to the Roan Chapel. Axton had relieved Jin of his watch over the cursed individuals whilst nose deep in a book.

You decided to split up; with Graxious and Jin making their way to The Lawful Reliquary for some personal information, whilst Aurevald, SHAI, and Morgyn made their way to The Ratways for information on The Rowdy Roan’s missing staff. The Ratways proved to be even more rundown than had been let on - with most buildings being extremely damaged and/or run down. They noticed a vaguely familiar silhouette exit a building and head down an alleyway on the other side of the main thoroughfare. They followed behind him; less stealthily than they thought they were being, and into a building. A tense moment occurred as Aurevald entered before a familiar, gruff voice address the entire room.

Whilst all that was happening, Graxious and Jin learned about Ordessa - the lover of Graxious’s god Seedara - before they too made their way to The Ratways. They arrived in time; despite a spectacular tumble by Jin, to see Morgyn and SHAI turn the corner into the alley and followed behind.

You all heard the familiar gruff voice of Varg; second-in-command of The Homestead, who gestured for all of you to follow him - taking you to a nearby inn. There he shared with you some of the town’s history before mentioning that he was searching for a man named Caesar Plight - who seemingly matched the description of Lady’s killer. You also learned that he had been seen entering Forest’s Edge with a Halfling woman a while ago but was suddenly less focused on the settlement as of recent. Varg had to suddenly leave after receiving word that Caesar Plight had been seen in Forest’s Edge. You said your goodbyes as he jumped into the portal that had been opened for him in a tree outside of The Ratways.

You returned to The Rowdy Roan for some downtime before speaking with Grez Klimmet once again - and managed to convince him to come with you to visit the Amensic Halfling Woman at the Roan Chapel. He seemed to recognize her vaguely but couldn’t put a pin on why. He also admitted to having seen a man who matched Caesar Plight’s description about 3 weeks ago. Grez Klimmet returned to The Rowdy Roan whilst you headed to the Carnival Grounds and killed some time before night came so you could search for The Sanguine Script.

The Carnival brought some much needed enjoyment including a coin guessing game, sack throwing, and collectible trading cards from overseas. You then made your way to a woman who offered to read your fortunes. At first it seemed to be a gimmick but each of your walked out of your readings shocked by her abilities - with only SHAI not feeling entirely enlightened by the reading.

Night came and the lights in Roan began to turn off the inner rings out - a signal for you all to search for The Sanguine Script. After a few moments - SHAI noticed a building where the light stayed on longer than those around it and you made your way there. You entered and met a gorgeous woman named Avendra Blythe who; after Morgyn spoke a phrase, tested you all with a riddle before gesturing you all into the bookstore’s back room to speak with the figure Morgyn was looking for.

A young man; early 20s at best, introduced himself as Lukhas Tophat and spoke with Morgyn about her past and reason for looking for “Riddle”. As the conversation drew on - you all notice the room grow incrementally darker until the a flash of darkness took the room - and when the lights returned, 6 cloaked figures appeared in a formation around you all. The leading figure; a woman wearing a more ornate cloak with feathers, announced that all of you were under arrest for crimes against the crown - looking at both Lukhas Tophat and Morgyn.

The woman referred to Morgyn as Sophia before shooting her in the hands with crossbows. Aurevald responded in a rage but before he was able to connect with any blows - time began to slow for all of you. Aurevald sacrificed himself and any memory of his existence to prevent the fate that befit you all. With the Goliath male’s sacrifice, time resumed it’s natural flow and the last thing you remember was Lukhas Tophat suddenly stopping mid-sentence and suggesting it wasn’t safe to keep talking - saying that he’d be in touch to speak further another night.

The initial event or situation to connect last session to this one.

And that’s where we’ll pick up from…

Get them back into the world. Set the scene vividly and make it feel real. DM NOTE: Axton is now with the group - having met up with them at the Carnival…

  • The night of the 13th of Vaelorn.
  • You have exited the back room of The Sanguine Script and are now in the main part of the store with Avendra Blythe once again. She’s engrossed in a book and drinking the same cup of peppermint tea.
  • She tells them to come back in the Morning and she’ll help them find any The Busy Knights fanfiction - but her favourite one is the one with the Dragonborn and the Orc.
    • She can been seen reading a book called A Crown Of Petals and Snow

The immediate action for the Party to deal with.

Eventually - after a few minutes or as soon as they walk outside the store, they’ll see a group of bandits who rush them and start a combat.

Possible paths forward - plan for a handful of scenarios

It’s a gloomy morning as rain has come and passed but the sun is hidden by clouds. The city is alive but definitely moving slower than previous days.

Exploring this thread will open the story up a lot.

No one will have directly heard about the Monarch Of Madness - but those in the know could suggest

They’ll have to speak to either Grez Klimmet or Garhys Steele to learn more about The Dealt Hand - an underground casino in The Ratways. Criteria for entry:
