Session 3 Prep
Review
Section titled “Review”The 7 of you made your way North towards Forest’s Edge - a small settlement known for it’s criminal activity - in search of The Snatchers who’ve captured townsfolks and heroes of Rookwell alike.
Your journey involved besting a large Dire Wolf and a pack of smaller Wolves seemingly under it’s care, and tending to a Halfling woman seemingly suffering from Amnesia. Axton departed your troupe to care for her back in Rookwell whilst the rest of you continued on.
Your arrival in Forest’s Edge during the late evening was met with the delectable smell of smoked meats cooked by a Tiefling woman named Pepper. You gathered the lay of the town and made your way to The Drunken Delight for more information; where Graxious played darts with a Hobgoblin, and met Krike Wildborn - the proprietor of the establishment.
With little warning, you were advised to exit The Drunken Delight by Krike Wildborn following a large crew of the figures wearing similar brown leather attire - you would know these people as The Homestead - flood from the upstairs room and out of the tavern. Some of you in dire need of a rest, exited promptly in search of a tent to stay the night in.
Before you could find your way to Pepper’s tent; on the advice of Krike Wildborn, you saw the same Scimitar-wielding figure from the previous day’s Snatcher attack; the presumed leader of The Snatchers, issue a command to his subordinates to search the town and find you. Stealth failed you in that moment and you had to band together to overcome an even greater threat than you had the previous day.
Worn-out and tired you quickly went to bed, but not before members of The Homestead could thank you for your work and asked to speak you properly in the morning. The morning came with some errands before you were each individually rounded up by figures with brown leather jackets and hats to meet at a gambling spot known as All-On-Red.

Bridge

Meeting with Varg
Section titled “Meeting with Varg”- All-On-Red is a shack with a number of roulette tables - filled with members of the town and The Homestead staffing it. There isn’t much room for colour that isn’t wood, leather, or liquor here.
- Two of The Homestead (Joseph Crowe and Kat Blaise) escorts will sit at different tables - speaking with the croupier - before leaving the table and gesturing for the party to follow to a back room.
- The back rooms are covered in dark brown leather and a fine oak wood - the smell is intense and overwhelms any of you who haven’t been around bougie leather before.
- Varg will speak with the party about their efforts - thanking them for warding off The Snatchers and mention a deal he’d like to make with them.
- He’ll offer to educate them about the town and trade some information.
- He’ll give a very biased overview of the town and how The Snatchers and The Rouge differ - and he’ll throw some disses at Caesar Plight as well.
- He’ll warn them not to get on Krike Wildborn’s bad side - he’s a thorn you do not want to be pricked by.
- Leave open room for the party member’s to ask questions
The Deal

Forwards

Varg OR Krike Wildborn will remind them to prepare for the journey to the North.

If the party are stuck or undecided they’ll be able to find a Half-Elf male roaming around with dark skin and white hair. He’ll introduce himself as “Z” but make it clear he’s keeping his name a secret.
- Probing him might reveal his name as Zayn but nothing more.

Forest’s Edge is a mixing pot of cultures so they can find a lot of things here. There’s bootleg liquor stores and a fortune teller who asks for 3 silver.

Krike Wildborn will offer advice; for a price, that he always sees them heading towards the Northern half of the Shadesorrow Forest.

The party can try and force a Dutch auction by trying to strike a deal with The Rouge. Prompt them by describing two of their members - dressed in dark-grey robes - walking towards a building on the other side of the settlement.
Onwards To The Shadesorrow
Section titled “Onwards To The Shadesorrow”The path towards the Shadesorrow will require a day or so’s journey. Roll 3x random event table from session 2.
If they speed run to the Shadesorrow - throw an appropriate combat encounter at them to help pace the session.
