Review

Last we left off… the 6 of you returned to the town of Rookwell and shared a night of celebrations with the townsfolk; where you took on the moniker of The Fated Eight to much applause from those in the tavern.
SHAI opened up to you all and admitted that he’d need to leave sooner than expected and head home. To his surprise - you all expressed support and offered to lend him a hand when the time came.
You shared final drinks before heading to bed - unaware that you would awake to the news that Kendran Vaena - son of King Terick II - had been killed by Orsanae assassins. The town of Rookwell seemed uneasy at the reality of an heirless king.
You continued on - acquiring the goods and resources needed to travel towards Roan to assist Morgyn as his business called him there. On the road you ran into a travelling circus known as Miles ‘Magico’ Magico’s Marvellous Mystery Circus and were invited to watch the show later that evening. It was a wonderful change of pace from the past couple of days that ended a little too soon for your liking.
During that night’s rest however - you were ambushed by assailants who were clearly focused on Lady Snowblood. You warded off the assailants with ease despite the darkness (I forgot to count disadvantage in darkness 4 most of u). and were left with an ominous warning by the leader of the pack. You distanced yourself from that campsite and rested further up the road
Bridge

And that’s where we’ll pick up from… You awake from your rests and tend to your morning routines - and to each of your horses who were safely tied up during the fight.
Re-Familiarize
Section titled “Re-Familiarize”Get them back into the world. Set the scene vividly and make it feel real. It is the morning of the 12th of Vaelorn. It is a semi warm morning as the sun crests the horizon. You’ve got at least another day of travel towards Roan.

Axton Interlude
Section titled “Axton Interlude”- You were tasked with taking this amnesic Halfling woman to Roan to get help from their Clerics in clearing this curse.
- You fended off some bandits attacking a traders’ exiting Roan. The cart was destroyed but you repelled them and helped save most of the goods. You managed to patch up the cart you’d been tasked with finding repairs for well enough to carry the additional load all the way to Roan.
- He paid you 25 gold and offered you a discount on his general goods wares if he ever saw you again.
- Arriving in the city - the Halfling woman entered a state of panic before falling into a coma. You rushed her by foot to the nearest church and have been staying by her side since.
- It’s slight - and only a start - but this is a chance for redemption and you know it deep down.
- You do realise that you abandoned the cart you were meant to take to get repaired - it has likely been stolen but that’s not important right now.
Forwards

Arrival in Roan
Section titled “Arrival in Roan”- Meet Thomas Urgide - a short Human man with an eyepatch and a cloak on his shoulder - who offers to show you around the city for a fee (25 gold base, 1 gold cheaper per DC>17 persuasion. 10 gold minimum)
- He promises the best experience and is quite charisamtic.
- Caesar Plight will offer to sell them a map regardless if he does or doesn’t upsell you on the tour guide.
Tour guide
Section titled “Tour guide”- Lore about the city’s history
- Shows your The Rowdy Roan and tells it’s history
- Spreads the rumour that 3 of their staff have gone missing in the past two weeks!
- Explains how the “Old Town” became the city it is today.
- Offers to take you to the Fortune Markets or Wrath’s Quarter
- Fortune Markets will teach them about the cities classism and expansion attempts.
- Wrath will teach them about the structure of the military - and leak some of the tea about the former military commander.
Wing it to find Axton
Section titled “Wing it to find Axton”- Axton is in one of rooms in the Roan Chapel. Eventually the party will hear people speaking about that woman who had an episode in the town square a few days ago.
- Graxious and SHAI offer to stay with the woman so Axton can explore the city and take his mind off of things.
- Thomas Urgide - if present - will offer to take you all out for a round of drinks. The Rowdy Roan or The Steel Fist Tavern.
On the way to drinks - one of the riots will break into a serious fight and the party will be forced to deal with it - aiding one of the Civil Corps who is outnumber against 5 bandits.
- Fight v 5 bandits - all will take 1 hit to knock unconscious. The guard will ask you to avoid killing them.
- Thomas Urgide will hide/cower behind Lady
Betrayal!
Section titled “Betrayal!”Try and call Ash and Jon before this moment - during some post fight admin break As everyone catches their breath after the fight ends - and the friot disbands - Everyone needs to make a DC18 Perception check - except Lady who makes a DC 21 CON Saving Throw.
“In the moments after the fight ends - you each go to catch a breath before you hear a sharp cry.
Lady - you feel the sting of a dagger entering your back. You feel the blade slip between your vertebrae. you lose all feeling in the lower half of your body. You expect to hit the ground but are instead held up by someone behind you. Have her roll 2D10 piercing damage for herself
In this moment - Thomas Urgide standing behind Lady holding her by her the back of her shirt as she begins to lurch forwards. Thomas Urgide smirks as he pulls the cloak off of his shoulder - as a shimmer washes over him. Standing where Thomas Urgide once had is a tall, lithe human man wearing jet black leather armour. His eye is still covered by an eye patch but his hair is now long and white.
If any of them try to react - they learn of 5 shadowy figures behind them that are holding them in place by the ankles. They can make a save to escape at the end of his next turn.
Blood begins to drip from her back before you all hear a CRACK! as he drops her to the ground emphatically. The limp body of your comrade lying there. ‘My dear Lady - you might’ve been ready for Moretti but you weren’t ready for me. My work here is done CLICK’
The assailant disappears instantly after the sound of the click. You each feel your ankles free up. WDYD
IF any of them try to heal Lady - she will heal and then immediately scream in pain. She rolls 3D12 poison damage for herself. ”

Death…
Section titled “Death…”Lady rolls her death saving throws - the party are able to try restoring her in numerous ways but none of them will work.
Each failed death saving throw - ask her to share one memory she recalls as she fades into death. If we get to a 5th death saving throw - the poison courses again and she will feel her Ki overwhelm her heart - beating faster and faster until it gives out. It’s an instant failure…
Session Close
